What happens to my documents?

The original file is stored on our hosting provider's object storage (Zerops, an S3-compatible service) in the EU. It's never shared with anyone outside your workspace unless you explicitly create a share link — and you control who that link goes to, when it expires, and whether it needs a password.

Which AI reads my documents?

Google's Gemini models. The page images and extracted text are sent to Gemini to identify the document type and pull out fields (issuer, dates, amounts), and — when you use Ask AI or "Explain this to me" — to answer your question. We use a paid-tier API, which under Google's terms means your content is not used to train their models.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, at any time — Settings → Account → "Download all your data" gives you every document's original file, plus a structured listing of titles, dates, amounts, and categories. No support ticket required.

What happens if I stop paying (or never pay)?

Nothing is charged today — every plan is free during beta. Once paid plans go live, we won't remove access or delete anything on a missed payment without advance notice first.

What happens if I delete a document, or my account?

Deleting a document moves it to Trash first, recoverable for a period before it's permanently removed. Deleting your account permanently deletes any workspace only you belong to, along with everything in it; a workspace you share with others is simply left as-is.

Is this GDPR-compliant?

We're built around the same rights GDPR guarantees — access and export your own data any time, and delete your account and its data on request — and every sub-processor that touches your data is named honestly on the Privacy page, not buried.

Is it just for receipts and bills?

No — warranties, insurance policies, passports, medical records, vet bills, letters from the council. Anything on paper gets read and filed the same way.
